Being born and raised in a city like Chiang Mai has truly been a blessing to my family and I, so I am here to talk about why Chiang Mai is the best City in Thailand and why I would like to encourage people to move in order to experience what this magical city has to offer.

Accommodation in Chiang Mai

Of course when you decide to move to a new city, one of the first thing that you have to consider is accommodation, such as, which area you would like to live in, how much space would you need, would you like garden or a terrace, etc. Purchasing a house is never an easy decision and not always enjoyable, however, buying a house in Chiang Mai is much easier and convenient than you can imagine. First, there are a lot of options for you to choose from including, houses, villas, condominiums, or townhouses. Each of these properties have their own advantages because if you were moving by yourself or with a partner, an apartment would be most suitable for you. If you were moving with your family for planning to start a family then a proper 3 -4 bedroom house would be your best option. And if you were looking to start a small business or wanting an office space, a townhouse is the way to go. In Chiang Mai you have so much options that are realistic since the city now is at its highest for growth and expansions. Within the last 5 years there has been a great deal of change in property, in business, and an overall increase in the standard of living for the locals and for foreigners residing in Thailand. Second, a lot of people especially foreigners who are looking for a place to retire would refer to live in an area that is more quiet and peaceful but at the same time not isolated enough to make you feel lonely. The beauty of Chiang Mai is that the urban area, aka downtown, is pretty small making it easy to navigate and also easily accessible from many routes. You could easily live in the mountains surrounded by trees and nature but at the same time only drive 15-20 minutes to go to the city centre and have a nice day out. Third, the prices for houses in Chiang mai are not expensive compared to the value of it.

Primary school and secondary school in Chiang Mai is by far one of the best in Thailand. Thai schools in Chiang Mai, whether it’s private or public has been ranked the top in the country in terms of their strong curriculum and domination in activities. Bilingual school is also an option for families who are multicultural and want to their child to learn the best of both worlds. Last but not least international schools, where you get to can choose to pursue the AP, IB, or the IGCSE curriculum. Because Chiang Mai is not that big, often the schools would come together and host joint events and activities in order to encourage the students to socialise and get to know people from all over the world. Chiang Mai has to be one of the most diverse cities I have ever visited.

Things to do in Chiang Mai

There are so many possibilities in Chiang Mai that anything you could think of, it would be possible to pursue. One of the factors that makes Chiang Mai so unique is that it is cater to all groups of people. If you are a person who is interested in history and culture, we have the museums that provides you with in depth information on how the city was born. There are numerous temples that are breathtakingly beautiful, which are located right in the city centre. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, there are plenty of hotels and villa that are situated in the mountain, giving you the perfect time and space to relax. If you are looking to have some fun, there are rooftop bars that overlooking the city, reggae bars, Jazz bars, nightclubs, anything you want, you could find.

Geographically speaking Chiang Mai is surrounded by mountains, therefore the humidity there is not as high as Bangkok or the southern provinces.

What i loved most about living in Chiang Mai is the energy and the positivity to feel from your surroundings and the people you need. There is truly no place in the world that gives me so much comfort and life like this city does.
